The webinar will address the effect the emissions trading scheme ETS has or does not have on energy efficiency in the EU manufacturing industry. The data are taken from the Odyssee data-base on energy efficiency covering all EU countries. Using these data as well as additional infor-mation about emission allowance prices and gas prices, no effect of the ETS on energy efficiency in EU industry can be observed.
A second part will focus on what options are available to increase the effect of the ETS on energy efficiency improvements in industry.
